Printers, Copiers, Scanners and More Products and Solutions by ASSI

"Printers, Copiers, Scanners and More" -- Peripheral Devices are "an ancillary device used to put information into and get information out of the computer".  There are three different types of peripherals: input devices, which interact with or send data from the user to the computer (mice, keyboards, etc.), output devices, which provide output to the user from the computer (monitors, printers, etc.), and input/output devices that perform both functions (Touchscreens). A peripheral device is generally defined as any auxiliary device such as a computer mouse or keyboard that connects to and works with the computer in some way. Other examples of peripherals are image scanners, tape drives, microphones, loudspeakers, webcams, projectors, and digital cameras.

We provide and consult on Network Perfipheral Devices because business is reliant on these components for presentations, printing, displays etc.  Having special printers for bulk print jobs like reports, having special presentation printers, having shared scanning with the ability to forward the object to yourself, having a projector for presentations and many, many more special peripheral items are commonly used in business today.  Even more common is the ability to print from one location to another or to scan something directly to someone else in lieu of faxing today.  While Faxing has become a dying technology, we still do have clients who are forced by compliance issues to still have massive faxing infrastructures and that technology is also still around.

The difficulty occurs in selecting these peripherals because the copier companies want to give you one form of product, the printer companies another and maintaining the abiilty to use everything not only from the main office but remotely and the satilite offices as well becomes more and more cumbersome.  When IT is trying to load ten different technologies from ten different companies... problems happen more frequently, the workstations and servers slow down, the functionaility becomes convoluted because they all don't work the same and knowing who to call for service and whether they are under service agreements becomes onurous to say the least.  The cost of supplies increases exponentially and keeping track of having the right cartridges becomes something difficult instead of simple.  Keeping track of how the devices communicate, whether the software is one way or two way, whether the software works well over a WAN and more and more complexities keep making your Network more and more complex.

Having a good plan for your Peripherals can keep your network simple and keep your service manageable.  It can also help control your cost and allow for centralized purchasing for maximizing cost savings.  Whether you need centralized faxing or a simple Multifuncion Copier, we can help make sure that you make the right choices.  We help our clients choose, understand, implement, use and support the appropriate Printers, Copiers, Scanners, Faxing and other Peripheral Devices and Systems to insure a best fit for their environment.
